Subject: peek into the future
This really was the foretelling of the problems we now see with dieting diseases such as bulimia, anorexia, etc.. The good doc seemed almost surreal though. The doctors I've meet in my life all seem much more interested in if I have insurance over whether I live or die, but Jean Hersholt did play the perfect doctor even if he never even knew how to read a thermometer.

Except it's a lot worse now. I gather the dieting craze began with the boyish figures and lack of corsets of the Roaring Twenties.

Subject: Like a train wreck - I just couldn't help but watch.
Fad diet/exercise guru wreaks havoc on lives in a small town. Disturbing, twisted, accurate, creepy.

This movie was funny. There is another Dr. Christian movie - The Courageous Dr. Christian. That one is dramatic. So, The two are like a set. One comedy, one drama. Both good, but Dr. Christian Meets The Women is better.
